Growth Hormone Studies Cites Benefits

Biomed Comm,^® Inc., a leader in homeopathic human growth hormone research, announced that the results from three independent double-blind placebo controlled clinical studies on homeopathic growth hormone supplementation will be published in the December 1999 issue of Alternative and Complementary Therapies, a peer reviewed scientific journal. Dr. Barbara Brewitt, CEO and Chief Scientific Officer for Biomed^®, noted that the clinical study results are the first to be published by any company that show statistically significant physiologic and psychologic benefits associated with use of a non-prescription oral homeopathic growth hormone product.

The clinical studies were conducted in Seattle, WA, Denver, CO and Santa Fe, NM on a total of 162 ‘healthy’ people who were between 18 to 72 years old. Study participants were diversified in their exercise routines and maintained their existing lifestyle throughout the length of the study. All were evaluated for serum IGF-1 levels, changes in body shape, blood pressure, blood chemistry and quality of life measures in three differently designed Phase I/II double-blind placebo controlled studies. The studies varied from 30 days to six weeks in length.

Biomed Comm^® plans additional clinical studies next year to further test the efficacy of their growth hormone and growth factor products. Dr. Brewitt is currently planning the scope of these studies with strategic partners in the sports and fitness and natural products industry. Additional clinicals are also planned as follow up on Biomed Comm's^® initial clinical study on growth factors and their positive effect on patients with AIDS/HIV.
