White Papers, CSE® Endurance Plus PRODUCT INFORMATION: GENERAL INFORMATION: CSE® Endurance Plus, HrhIGF-1, is a healthy aging medicine along with its tag-team member, CSE® Naturally hGH. Biomed Comm's® randomized, double-blinded, placebo controlled studies along with Biomed Comm's® other HrhIGF-1 controlled clinical studies demonstrated clinical effectiveness of this signaling protein in terms of optimizing physical and mental health and improved quality of life. IGF-1 blood levels decrease after the age of thirty, similar to decreases in human growth hormone (hGH). Aging and environmental toxins are often accompanied by lowered physical and mental functioning, due to poorly coordinated cell to cell communication. Balancing hGH and IGF-1 feedback loops can be done safely and effectively, increasing the quality of living in a stressful world. INSULIN-LIKE GROWTH FACTOR-1 IN THE BODY IGF-1 works as a multi-purposeful signaling growth factor enhancing cell-to-cell communication, thus harmonizing the nervous, immune, and hormonal systems1. IGF-1 signals orchestrate health in muscles, growth hormone levels, reproductive organs, skin, brain, nervous system, and metabolism. IGF-1 also regulates normal cell growth, death and differentiation (specialization) with major influence on cell cycle events related to DNA synthesis. IGF-1 BENEFITS
IGF-1 regulates cell growth, specialization and death, dependent upon cell health, DNA condition, cell responsiveness to growth factors and nutrient uptake. IGF-1, like other growth factors, need never enter cells. IGF-1 exerts effects by activating specific high affinity cell surface receptors (like antennae). Activation happens by either physical or energetic (electro-magnetic) methods. Cell receptors transmit information about the cellular environment to the DNA through a cascade of signals that lead to changes in cell behavior2. IGF-1 works at the cell signaling level. IGF-1 is produced and released by many tissues with the highest levels produced in the liver. It is also produced in the small and large intestines, kidney, spleen, pancreas, lung, heart, testes, ovaries, nervous system and human placenta3. IGF-1 and hGH work together building, strengthening and balancing the body's hormones. IGF-1 signals effect mental and physical capacities4. IGF-1 protects against neuronal cell death. IGF-1 and hGH profoundly effect perceptional impressions through the brain's limbic system which are then translated in physical action. High densities of IGF-1 receptors are found in the limbic system thus supporting memory, learned lessons, perceptions, speech, relationships and fear. IGF-1 improves memory, object recognition, and emotional stability5. IGF-1 improves mental performance by increasing the speed of processing information. IGF-1 also increases muscle endurance and the speed of recovery from exercise. IGF-1 receptors are present at neuromuscular junctions, explaining why IGF-1 speeds muscular growth, strength, increases endurance and accelerates recovery time. IGF-1 improves nutrient uptake during lack of oxygen or toxic insult. IGF-1 prevents some cells from developing neurotoxicity and regulates neurite cell length. In summary, IGF-1 critically regulates nerve cell survival, determining which neurons live, die or specialize. STRUCTURE Human IGF-1 is a highly conserved, single chain polypeptide of 70 amino acid-residues, cross-linked by three disulfide bridges. IGF-1 molecular weight is 7,649 daltons with a basic charge of pH 8.0-8.5. The secondary structure of human IGF-1 in solution is consistent with that of insulin in the crystalline state. IGF-1 contains four domains, A, B, C, and D. The A and B domains share a 40-49% amino acid homology with the A and B chains of human pro-insulin, whereas the C and D domains of IGF-1 bear no such relationship. The tertiary structure contains three alpha helix segments with one beta sheet turn. IGF-1 belongs to an entire family of insulin-like growth factors that possess potent anabolic and replication effects both in vivo and in vitro activating the insulin receptor. IGF-1 structure makes it very conducive to electromagnetic spin resonance that may be capable of activating cell receptors6. RECOMBINANT DNA TECHNOLOGY Recombinant human IGF-1 (rhIGF-1) is produced using a non-toxic strain of yeast that carries the IGF-1 gene. RhIGF-1 is identical in amino acid sequence and structure to human IGF-1. RhIGF-1 is natural, grown in a laboratory from all pure, non-human, non-contaminated sources ensuring purity and safety in a USP form. The word recombinant means "re" and "combined" referring to combining and recombining materials in a controlled safe GMP laboratory. Scientists create 'blue prints' for naturally building IGF-1. These 'blue print' recipes combine natural sugars, natural phosphate groups and natural DNA-specialized proteins, called purines and pyrimidines, in a nucleotide sequence that consequentially builds a DNA chain that codes for human insulin-like growth factor-1. The 'blue print' or DNA code for IGF-1 is combined (inserted) into the DNA of simple, single cell 'parent organisms', such as yeast. As parent organisms multiply they produce rhIGF-1 recognized by the body as itself, just as if the body made it. The rhIGF-1 is separated from yeast material by a pure filter, guaranteeing safety without dangerous contaminants, leaving only highly purified, safe recombinant rhIGF-1 following certified and standardized GMP guidelines. This technology produces rhIGF-1 naturally without fear of contamination. HOMEOPATHY Biomed Comm® brings homeopathy's 200-year tradition into the 21st Century. Samuel Hahnemann. M.D. (1755-1843) formalized the Law of Similars or 'let likes be cured by like', after identifying two fundamental elements of pharmacology: 1) A drug effects the body and 2) the body reacts to the drug producing desirable and/or adverse toxic effects. Dr. Hahnemann's patients experienced positive benefits from homeopathic drugs without any negative side effects. Persons with negative symptoms that mirrored the adverse effects of IGF-1 are supposed to experience improvement or disappearance of those symptoms when using homeopathic IGF-1. Biomed Comm® provides a kinder, gentler, safer alternative to the injectable drug IGF-1 with CSE® Endurance Plus. IGF-1 cell receptor's may be activated by subtle electro-magnetic forces7 using the same mechanisms of action during homeopathic signaling as occurs with the injectable drug8. NO TOXICITY No toxic or adverse effects were reported (including no abnormal liver enzyme measurements) in clinical studies conducted on CSE® Endurance Plus. SAFETY AND CANCER ISSUES There is no evidence that CSE® Endurance Plus increases one's risk of getting cancer. There is some controversy among scientists regarding the effects of abnormally high levels of IGF-1 or injecting higher than normal concentrations of rhIGF-1 in the body on existing cancers. CSE® Endurance Plus may be one way of safely having IGF-1 signals optimize health naturally, however longer term studies are needed to prudently answer this important question. Data in the medical literature indicate that high IGF-1 blood levels may increase the risk colon cancers9. However, IGF-1 blood levels were largely below national normal limits in participants in Biomed Comm's ® clinical studies10. Healthy people have relatively normal circadian rhythms of hGH secretions. However, in one study selected, lung cancer patients had increases in blood hGH levels and decreases in IGF-1 levels11. Altered feedback loops and abnormal IGF-1 and hGH signaling were found in cancer patients12,13. IGF-1 powerfully effects the body, psyche and mind by regulating complex positive and negative feedback mechanisms. Maintenance of building up (anabolic) and tearing down (catabolic) processes need to occur in a balanced manner, called homeostasis. Homeostasis prevents disease in the body, optimizing health naturally.
